About
About the NSFAS Application Tracker
The NSFAS Application Tracker is a free, independent personal organiser for South African students who are applying for, or receiving, NSFAS funding. It helps you keep one clear record of your application status changes, your documents, your allowance payments and your reminders — in one place, on your own device.
What this site is — and is not
We are not NSFAS. This site is not affiliated with NSFAS or the Department of Higher Education and Training, and it does not connect to NSFAS systems. Your official application status always comes from NSFAS itself — through the myNSFAS portal at nsfas.org.za, the NSFAS WhatsApp line, USSD or SMS. This tracker is simply where you log what you see there, so you always know where you stand.
We will never ask for your myNSFAS password. Any website that asks for it should not be trusted. For anything official — applications, appeals and document uploads — always use nsfas.org.za directly.
How the tracker works
The tracker runs entirely in your browser. There is no sign-up and no account: the information you enter is stored only in your own browser (local storage) on your own device, and you can erase all of it at any time with the erase-all button on the Tracker page.
Our guides
Our articles explain, in plain language, how to check your NSFAS status, what each status means, how long approval usually takes, and when allowances are paid. Where a date or amount has not been officially published yet, we say so honestly instead of guessing.
